Italy generates significant volumes of waste for which there is currently insufficient capacity for high-value treatment. At the same time, EEW operates modern facilities across Europe that enable efficient energy recovery, thereby recovering energy and usable raw materials. With the establishment of EEW Italia S.r.l., the company is now creating a direct link to the Italian market.
The new company, with an office in Milan, will act as a direct point of contact for waste producers and waste management customers in Italy. EEW Italia S.r.l. will independently conclude contracts with customers and organise the thermal recovery of suitable waste streams at the EEW Group’s facilities.
“With the establishment of EEW Italia S.r.l., we are specifically expanding our sales activities to include another important European market. Our approach is to recover waste where the most efficient and sustainable capacities are available. In doing so, we are making a concrete contribution to a functioning European circular economy,” says Andreas Dous, Head of Sales at the EEW Group and Managing Director of EEW Italia.
At the same time, EEW is helping to relieve pressure on the Italian waste management market and supporting the safe and sustainable treatment of waste.
“With EEW Italia S.r.l., we are creating direct access for Italian customers to our recycling capacities. This enables us to jointly develop solutions that are both environmentally sound and economically viable,” explains Oliver Karg, Head of International Sales.
By expanding its international sales structure – following activities in Poland and now also in Italy – EEW is consistently pursuing the goal of efficiently managing material flows and making optimal use of existing recycling capacities. Waste is increasingly being seen as a valuable resource, the energy and raw material potential of which must be tapped in the interests of a sustainable circular economy.
