Bernard M. Kemper

Chief Executive Officer

Bernard M. Kemper was born in South Africa. After completing his training as an industrial clerk, he studied political science and law in Bielefeld and Bonn. At the same time, Kemper worked as a research assistant for various bodies of the German Parliament, including the Environment Committee.

After completing his studies, Bernard M. Kemper joined the SULO Group where he served as managing director of the Altvater Group in Herford for a period of ten years.

In 2000, Kemper joined RWE Umwelt AG in Essen, where he took over as Chairman of the Board of Management. Six years later, he was appointed to the Board of Management of Vecoplan AG, an engineering firm based in Bad Marienberg. In 2010, Bernard M. Kemper was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Abellio GmbH in Essen. Since 3 July 2014, he has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EEW Energy from Waste GmbH.

Bernard M. Kemper also did voluntary work for the waste management sector, including five years as President of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Entsorgungs-, Wasser- und Rohstoffwirtschaft e.V. (BDE – Federal Association of the German Waste, Water and Raw Materials Management Industry).
For more than eight years, Kemper has also been active in other companies in which he owns shares. In two of the companies, he is a member of the supervisory boards.

Dr. Joachim Manns

COO

Dr Joachim Manns was born in Bitburg, Germany. After studying physics at the University of Bonn and subsequently obtaining his doctorate, in 1996 he joined the company Steag AG in Essen as a project manager for international projects.

Three years later, Dr Manns accepted the positions of authorised officer and project director at Vasa Energy GmbH & Co KG / Concord Power GmbH in 1999.

In 2003, he joined the staff of the board of management of EnBW Kraftwerke AG as coordinator of power plants. He later held other positions within that company, including head of technology and innovation management, head of the new-build projects division and plant manager of the Rheinhafen steam power plant in Karlsruhe.

In 2015, Dr Mann was appointed to the management board of MVV Umwelt GmbH in Mannheim.

Since 1 October 2020, Dr Joachim Manns has been a member of Board of Management of EEW Energy from Waste GmbH. He is also Chief Operating Officer (COO) with responsibility for technology.
