The availability of affordable energy and raw materials, as well as the reliable treatment of non-recyclable waste, are important prerequisites for the economy and for infrastructure. EEW thermally treats non-recyclable waste and uses the energy released in the process to generate electricity, heat and process steam.

EEW operates an extensive network of waste-to-energy plants. This provides capacity for the reliable treatment of non-recyclable waste while also generating energy. Metals can be recovered from combustion residues in downstream processes, while suitable mineral fractions can be processed for further recovery.

Our long-term business model, with its infrastructure character, requires continuous investment in the modernisation and efficiency of our plants. Our aim is to manage operational performance, environmental impacts and economic viability in an integrated way, thereby supporting viable long-term conditions for our business and financing.
