The rating complements EEW’s sustainable finance activities, including its recently updated Green Financing Framework and the placement of a €555 million Green Bond. While the Framework defines which investments are eligible for green financing, the Corporate Rating provides a broader assessment of EEW’s sustainability performance, corporate governance and ESG transparency. At the same time, it provides investors and other capital market participants with an independent reference point for assessing the company’s sustainability performance and long-term positioning.
“Sustainable finance requires clear criteria for the use of proceeds as well as confidence in a company’s sustainability performance. The rating provides investors and financing partners with an additional external point of reference and supports our ambition to systematically embed sustainability across our corporate processes,” says Stefan Schmidt, CFO of the EEW Group.
With its Prime Status, EEW is classified as one of the sustainability leaders in its industry under the ISS STOXX methodology. The assessment is conducted annually based on industry-specific environmental, social and governance criteria.
Further information on the methodology is available on the official ISS STOXX Sustainability website.
